There is no doubt that there are a lot of cool tools for increasing the productivity of your online business. The problem is that many online business owners can caught up in understanding and using all the cool little widgets and other free tools that are available online and they forget about offering quality to the end user which is the customer.

So, if you are starting a new business what does it mean to offer quality to your customers and how do you go about doing this online?

Tips on Delivering Value to Your Customers

The main method for keeping your customers happy and getting referrals is to offer more value than you are charging for your product. Your prospects like to feel that they are getting their money’s worth so you have to make the offer bigger than the amount you are charging. Okay, so exactly how do you do this?

* Understand Why People Search the Internet: If you are going to be starting an online business it is very important to understand why people are searching the Internet and more specifically, why they are searching for your product or service. First of all, the majority of people search the Internet because they are looking to solve a problem. As an online business owner it is your job to figure out what problem your target market is trying to solve and then come up with a way to offer them the solution.

* Sell the Process and Not the Product: Once you identify your market and the problem they are trying to solve you must sell through the process and not the product. By this we mean you must lead the prospect through the process of solving the problem. Only then will they think about purchasing your product. The process involves offering quality information that is useful to the customer without initially asking for anything in return. If you successfully help them to solve the problem you have offered a tremendous value and benefit to their life.

* Provide Quality: Once you have provided your prospect with quality information they will naturally see why they need your product however, quality does not end there. You must present your product in a way that adds tremendous benefits to your prospect’s life. To do this you must ask yourself, “What are are some of the benefits that can be offered along with my products?” These could be offered in the form of fringe benefits such as a free report, a free ebook, a set of instructional CDs, or anything else you can think of to create a package deal.

* Backend Products: Once you have established a relationship with the customer you must continue to offer quality in the form of continued free information and in any backend products that you offer. Backend products are products that you can offer to your prospect once you have established a trusting relationship and they have made a purchase. If your prospect trusts the quality associated with your brand name they will be more likely to listen to your recommendations for backend products that are related to their purchase.

* Ongoing Customer Service: Customer service will be the one factor in your business that will make you or break you. Although you may succeed in offering quality, if you do not follow through by listening to the customer’s concerns and needs you will end up losing all of the long term benefits you have worked so hard to achieve in the previous steps we have described here. In addition to offering quality, good customer service is the icing on the cake and one of the main components that will keep your customers returning time and again.

So….yes…tools are cool and they are necessary for saving you time with your business as it grows however, you must make sure not to get caught up in all of the cool gadgets that are available to the point where you neglect to offer quality to your customers.

Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail

You may have heard this platitude before. It really resonates with me and is something I say to my team time and time again. To achieve your goals , whether they are to achieve a Maximum Residual Income, Financial Freedom, Fire Your Boss, etc…, you must have a plan to get there. Being plugged into a system or part of a group isn’t enough. Subscribing to ideals is not a lottery ticket. Achieving success and attaining your goals requires following a detailed plan with commitment and desire. These two components of executing your plan through to a desired outcome are crucial. You know what you want, now you must commit to the work that needs to be done to reach those goals. If you truly commit to the plan it is because you have a real desire to get to your destination.

How do you come up with this plan of action? This can be the part where most get stifled before they even begin their action. The best way that I have learned to come up with a plan is to look to someone who has succeeded in the same areas that I am looking to succeed. Find out what they did to attain their success. You do not have to re-create the wheel. Success leaves clues. You can create your own plan by following the map of those who have already paved the road.

Once you have a general plan in place. Prioritize your action. Go with the activities that are going to generate your results. If your plan is toward an income goal — Spend your time on M.M.A. – Money Making Activities. Do not get so caught up in planning that you never take action. The way to move to your goals is to execute your plan. This may seem like an obvious statement, but there are alot of people that spend so much time getting ready to get ready that they never get going.

Set Your Goals, Create a Plan, Take Massive Action!

“We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it. It Pays to Take Life Seriously” Proverbs 16:9

OnlinePlanBy setting up a business plan, you are road mapping your way to success. It will help you to develop your business goals and strategies, as well as providing you with a better understanding of the marketplace. It will also highlight any business strengths or weaknesses that you may have, as well as providing you with an opportunity to take a close look at your competitors. If you want, you can also include financial projections, historical data and growth expectations into your business plan.

With any good business plan, it should show who the target audience is, and just how the product or service that is being provided will meet or exceed their needs and expectations. When organizing a business plan it is best if you break it down into sections such as:

1. Business summary – The product or service you want to provide.

2. Market analysis – Research on the product or service and how the competitors are doing.

3. Product positioning – How to make it more prominent compared to your competitors.

4. Market strategy – How are you actually going to market it?

5. Customer analysis
– Look at what the customer wants or needs.

6. Financial analysis – What you need to invest in order to set up the business and to keep it going while it is just getting started.

7. Overall business goals – What you hope to achieve in, say, a year’s time. But what is more important is that once a business plan has been developed, it should not lay in the back of a drawer somewhere. It should be a working plan that you can refer to when you need to.

The best way to make a business plan is to keep it simple (one or two pages should be all you need). Certainly one of the best things you can do when starting an online business is to create a plan then stick with it.

A Recurring Theme

Following too many strategies, spending too much time opting out of e-mail lists, weeding through fool proof plans and surefire list-building techniques?

I have been networking with some of those I have met at the marketing event last week and talking with some prospects and others on my team and notice a recurring theme. I thought I was the only one that had certain obstacles. Funny how we get tunnel vision when working on our computers and forget to reach out to others and LEARN.

It seems many fellow business owners find themselves distracted by being on too many e-mail lists, following too many game plans or plugging in to “multiple streams” of income.

Truth be told, if you work your primary opportunity with focus and passion then the need for other streams will dissipate due to the earnings you will reap and the time you will save. If done right, the CCPRO business offers affiliate earnings just by sharing the tools I use in my business (Aweber, Viral Url, Magnetic Sponsoring, etc.) There is really no immediate need to stay plugged into all this other stuff as it simply distracts from learning and earning in my main business.

Staying plugged into a community of entrepreneurs, learning from others and sharing my successful strategies will catapult me so much further than trying all these things without the assistance of my peers. Before I attended the Master Marketing Event I definitely was in the tunnel vision mode and had blinders on. “Re-Joining” the community and participating in it for the reasons it was created has already re-ignited my business and my ambitions.

Join The Online Business Entrepreneur’s Resource Center on Facebook where I am starting discussions between entrepreneurs to compare strategies and share worthwhile tools and techniques.

See you on the Leaderboards.

Your first step in achieving success in your business is to establish your vision for your success. I previously wrote about the importance of having a mission statement and if you haven’t already done so then I would suggest revisiting that exercise (click here) and getting that done. It may seem like an obligatory drill or “necessary evil” but make no mistake that it is a key step toward your success.

Develop a clear picture of what your business is. Ask yourselves these questions: Why does it exist? Who are you looking to attract? What are you passionate about? Set yourself apart from your new venture for a moment and look at what you were looking for before embracing this business. You found what you are looking for and now you are out to attract those looking for the same. You are going to attract those that want the same opportunity you want and are passionate about the same things. Be yourself in your game plan, it’s definitely easier than being someone else. Notice the use of the word “attract” here. Your goal should be to brand yourself and your business to attract people to your opportunity. Cold calling and chasing prospects is exactly what you most likely do not want to be doing. Attracting those already interested in what you have to offer leads to a conversation that is enjoyed by all.

Remember an organization exists to give value to its team members. Your success will come as a result of assisting others to reach their goals. Your passion in your business should be communicated clearly. You will need to be in a constant and persistent pursuit of your goals. Stay on track, communicate clearly as to attract like minded entrepreneurs and share your opportunity. It’s much easier to share an opportunity than it is to sell anything.

So go ahead and identify the reasons your business exists and pinpoint what it is you are passion about. Then set your game plan accordingly.
